Intensive ESL Program (minimum 20 hours/week)

Required for full-time students!
TOEFL/MELAB Preparation

The Intensive English Program is designed to help students acquire a high level of English language proficiency in a warm, supportive learning environment. The full time program offers 20 - 25 hours of classroom instruction a week during our six week terms (Monday through Friday).
We invite you to enroll in this intensive program to improve all of your English proficiency skills in the shortest time possible. Full-time tuition for this program is $990.00 US effective April 14, 2009.

* All new students must take a placement examination prior to the start of their course

Semi-Intensive ESL Program (less than 20 hours/week)

This course is also of six weeks duration (5 to 15 hours per week). Students who wish to enroll in this program may choose a combination of up to three classes. Students must take a placement examination prior to selecting a course.

    Courses offered are as follows:

    • Reading and Discussion
    • Grammar
    • Speaking and Pronunciation
    • Writing (general, academic and TOEFL essay)
    • TOEFL®/MELAB® (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Preparation

    * The intensive, semi-intensive, and TOEFL/MELAB preparation course programs all follow the same six-week term schedule. Students in all three programs study five days a week during the six-week term (Monday through Friday). Students enrolled in the intensive study program receive twenty classroom hours of instruction per week (4 courses) with the option of taking five additional weekly hours of TOEFL/MELAB preparation (theory and workshop). Students enrolled in the semi-intensive study program receive 15 or fewer classroom hours of instruction per week (3 or fewer courses) during the same six-week term (also Monday through Friday). Students may also enroll for TOEFL/MELAB preparation only. These students receive five classroom and workshop hours of instruction per week.
