1. Refund Due Dates1.1 Access International Business Institute rarely takes advanced tuition deposits. However, if the case should arise, the following policy will be in effect. Candidates within the United States who apply to and are admitted to our intensive or semi-intensive English programs who never attend a class (no-shows) or who cancel the contract prior to the class start date shall receive a complete refund of their advance tuition within thirty (30) calendar days of the first scheduled day of class or the date of cancellation, whichever is earlier.
1.2 For enrolled students, all refunds due shall be calculated using the last date of attendance (LDA) and paid within thirty (30) calendar days from the documented date of determination.*
* The date of determination is the date the student gives written or verbal notice of withdrawal to the school, or the date the school terminates the student in accordance with the institution's attendance, school, and student enrollment policies.
2 Rejection and Cancellation2.1 For student visa candidates applying from abroad who are accepted for their student visa to study at Access International and cancel prior to the start of scheduled classes, and candidates from abroad who are denied a student visa to study at this institution, the following shall NOT be refunded: The nonrefundable $100.00 U.S. application fee.2.1.1 Student visa candidates from abroad who are accepted for their student visa to study at Access International and cancel prior to the start of scheduled classes shall forfeit an additional $150.00 administrative recruiting fee.2.2 If an application for admission is not accepted by Access International, a full refund of all monies paid shall be made to the applicant.
2.3 If a program of study is cancelled by Access International prior to a student's enrollment, the student has two options:2.3.1 The student then can choose another existing program at Access International:
- Intensive English as a Second Language (4 hrs. a day, 5 days a week, 6 weeks)
- Semi-Intensive English as a Second Language (3 or fewer hrs. a day, 5 days a week, 6 weeks)
- TOEFL Preparation Program (1 hr. a day, 5 days a week, 6 weeks)
and use the credit calculated from the monies the student had paid earlier, or;
2.3.2 The student may request refund. In this case, a full refund of all monies paid by the student to the school shall be made to the student within 30 days.
3. Withdrawal or Termination After Start of ClassIf a student withdraws or his/her status is terminated by Access International after the start of class, all refunds due will be calculated using the last date of attendance (LDA) and paid within thirty (30) calendar days from the documented date of determination. The date of determination is the date the student gives written or verbal notice of withdrawal to the school or the date the school terminates the student by applying Access International's attendance, school, and student enrollment agreement policies. Refund schedule: During the first two weeks of the six week term, refund based on strict proration of number of days studied out of the six week total of thirty (30)days. For example, withdrawal after three (days), refund of 27/30 (90%) tuition. There will be no refunds made after the completion of two (2) weeks of study.
If a student's termination is due to a serious violation of student enrollment agreement and fair conduct, the business loss incurred by the student's action will be taken into consideration for the amount of refund deduction.
